well, this is different� fourth kind the self titled mini album on omniverse records. it�s hard to pinpoint a genre with records like this, produced by marc mac of 4hero and similar to some of the 4hero output, it defies genre and fits somewhere in-between many. the production is heavily reliant on synthesisers and vintage drum machines in places but is full of real life and organic movements, this is partly down to the signature drums played by luke parkhouse. the only other guest spot is filled by nu jazz funker pascal strauss aka luman child who plays bass guitar on �take me to your sky� which along with �afterglows� are the closest we get to dance tracks, in most parts a 70s fusion feel is present. the short interlude type tracks are just as important and i would go as far as to say vital to telling the story. moogs, arps and solina strings weave patterns throughout, all in all, across the 10 tracks the album is a journey of mood and emotions. 180g pressing.

children of tomorrow will celebrate soon its 10 years anniversary. the label was created by emmanuel ternois back in the day and being joined by arnaud le texier in 2011. since then they focused on techno producing amazing artists, to name few: terrence dixon, zadig, tensal, antigone, oscar mulero, jonas kopp, samuli kemppi etc... children of tomorrow is now presenting the first album from arnaud le texier. after almost 30 years dj-ing around the world and almost 20 years producing. signing many releases over the years and always busy delivering dance floor releases, it s been a long wait to finally get an album from arnaudon his first album we can feel that he wanted to tell a story and to express something deeper with his production experience. there is a different variety of techno that stretches from ambient / broken beat / hypnotic / raw techno along with subtles grooves, wondrous atmospheres & sonic textures. on a side the album opens with dusk, an ambient atmospheric mid-tempo track with sonic sounds that is a perfect intro.pattern 2 starts with drones and blip sounds and a broken beat groove follows with a pad that sounds like a voice coming from the space. the track ends with some modular click sounds that make the whole track clever. followed by the album title granular therapy, a deep techno track with modular bass line and melancholic pad. a perfect track to play in after or to warm up a party.the b side is more dedicated to the dance floor with black nympheas that is a proper dark modern techno with a grinding bass line and magic drones. a simple beat makes the track evolve in a nice way. blade pass frequency is 4/4 effective techno with a 909 kick, a syncope acid bass line and a pad that sends you to another dimension. it is a powerful track but with a sense of deepness and sensibility that arnaud can achieve sometimes. this side closes with binary sun dawn which is an ambient track with melody that has a jazz feeling mixed with dark atmospheres, sonic drones and water drops. the c side opens with mono driver, a minimal track with a little synth that stays until the end repetitively until it makes you travel and lose your mind. deep and dance floor at the same time.

nothing more than a diary filled with sound fragments that reveal a soundtrack for a surreal story. the emerald ep is a journey lived by a time traveler through eerie ambientscapes, started from the vintage sci-fi frenzy from the late 50s� immortalized on side a with romeo poirier�s dysfunctional robotic bleeps, continued with boris hegenbart & david moss� distorted broadcast tape and ended in christopher james chaplin�s atmosphere created by an analog choir.

reworking a big tune is never a simple task, especially if after 7 years the tune in question is still one of the highlights in shows of one of the worlds most beloved live act performers, kink. that s only half of the story though, as the tune got a lot of love from so many dj s all over the globe. however, for the 17th burek release, we wanted to do something really special and what could be better than giving new life to a piece of music which literally gave life to our label. and we gathered some very interesting people for the job.

one of our most mysterious and intriguing states of consciousness is the dream. we lose consciousness when we enter the deep waters of sleep, only to regain it as we emerge into a series of uncanny private realities. through the fog of the mind we can get a glimpse of a world beyond our day to day realities that sometimes is able to show us deeper truths than those we face in awake states. roger is one of those lucid pioneers that is able to translate these experiences into sound. let him guide you through these wondrous clouds. were very happy to welcome dutch-born german-raised roger van lunteren on sohaso for the first time. his rosa dos ventos ep is a four-track story that oozes retro vibes and nostalgia for a past that never seems to have existed. utilizing raw 80�s analog synths and humanoid acid lines he sets atmospheres that remind of lynchian dreamscapes. vanish starts out with an emotional chord sequence, as you enter the fluid world of the subconscious. a gnarly bassline welcomes your arrival and lets you know things here aren�t exactly what they seem. journeying on through seemingly dark areas, it ends with a hopeful melody and the bass softens as you start feeling weightless. uncontacted uses choral pads and two intertwining 303 sequences as a way of communicating between the different dimensions. aroy dee remixing vanish is like taking a psychotropic liquid, adding more drive to the original while retaining the emotive synth patterns. sleepless is rogers hardest cut on the record, again providing directly plugged in 303 goodness and stomping beats. it rounds off a balanced ep with plenty of introspective dance material.

matt edwards and multifaceted artist patrick mason team up as srvd with debut release entitled elevate dropping on rekids this august. whether as radio slave or his various other monikers, matt edwards is one of electronic musics most consistent and innovative artists. ever since his early reinterpretations of kylie minogue and new order, edwards has continually commanded respect as a producer and in-demand remixer, whilst as a label owner his rekids imprint is undoubtedly one of house and techno�s most influential platforms. meanwhile, patrick mason continues to conquer the fashion world, a devout club kid and gifted creative turning heads as an outstanding art director, illustrator and model, whose extensive artistic talents include a unique and compelling voice destined for dancefloors. srvds story begins when the pair met in panorama bar, which soon led to edwards and mason hanging out at the studio and later evolved into improvised performances in berlins club scene and beyond. elevate perfectly captures the raw spirit and vibe of their live show, with whispering vocals ushering in precision kicks and piercing stabs until masons mesmerising voice comes fully into play. an homage to the new york vogue scene and a huge hit at panorama bar - where the pair have set the house on fire with three unannounced shows so far this year nasty is a syncopated, bass-driven monster of a cut complete with infectious claps and metallic effects.

you may remember the closing of space, ibiza with carl cox when he played a bootleg of total confusion. barry obzee hobbs (rising high a&r) spent a lot of time trying to locate the remixer and finally did a few months ago. we have now signed the remix which will be released on vinyl in may and on digital in july. the story goes like this: carl cox has been playing the version at most of his shows including tomorrow land, kappa future fest and timewarp ( see video clip below) but this is where the story becomes more interesting. the remixer, rod malmok from rotterdam aka benny rodriguez, who is a very established dj producer playing for loco dice in ibiza etc and releasing on ben klock s imprint klockwork, chris liebings imprint clr, adam beyers imprint drumcode and many more was inspired to remix the track through a conversation with dubfire, rod gave him a rough copy the following day. he played it to carl cox at space, ibiza and cox begged him for a copy - see video below if you ve been around the scene for a while you will know that rising high records was one of the first labels to shape techno, hardcore and breakbeat in the uk and was huge!

following their first dive into the archives of earguard studio which led to bm02, basic moves have tapped the source again and selected two raw,previously unreleased productions from 1996. for dj deg,this was a transitional period: a moment to look back on the genesis of circadian rhythms and a time to look forward to both personal and artistic evolution. on the a-side of bm06 lies a track where house and techno come together to shape a mysterious, hypnotic atmosphere. �sinh session� is coloured with the warmth and passion that deg absorbed from his musical influences of the time and it reflects an era of great emotional importance: for him,each track holds a story.

another very special ep on al zanders a to z label teaming up this time with vocalist sheyi, for a one-off foray into broken beat territory. the story of its inspiration begins with a trip to notting hill record & tape exchange... after asking for some broken beat, the assistant ventured a withering opinion that -won t be monotonous enough, try the house music section instead- turns out it was phil asher of co-op fame - who, after establishing a genuine desire for said genre - sold al a bunch of west london music which became the influence for this ep. allowing sheyi to shine over a bare bones, syncopated rhythm track on the title cut and an equally stripped down satisfy al amps up the groove, with the g.i.t dub, which was made for ig culture s radio show. limited run on these - don t snooze !

the young manchester lad and family member swales returns to the land of honey butter to deliver his debut ep night cuisine. this four tracker is filled with dusty feel good sample flips in a true swales manner, ready to set summer nights in motion. this side is best described as a love story where lushness meets stomp, while that side effortlessly roles the top back down and takes on a more laid back approach to that deep disco sound.

touchstone ep is a story told by a new romanian producer. his fascinating music journey takes us along the elusive and mysterious minimal techno path and steps us out of the ordinary with passion and its acid drops of rythm. pain and progression are hypnotic tracks that keep us on the dance floor until we reach the warm reveal of a perfect night out, while the enjoyable bass and beats enchant us throughout the playful tones of his music.

the music on this ep was conceived in china, between 1989 and 1993. the original tracks were mixed to dat in real time, in a small neighbour-proof studio inside my apartment in macau, a 19th floor with a view to the hurricanes. there�s a small, unexpected or improbable story behind each track, some little magic fused with the local atmosphere, certainly guaranteeing their lasting authenticity 25 years later.

this year s nachtdigital record follows the path we started to explore in 2017: to combine artists who are close to us, each given the specific task to tell a story in up to 24 minutes (which is pretty much the maximum you can press on one side of a vinyl record) - with complete artistic freedom.

in the third of the �phobiza trilogy� we are invited through the ethereal haze that separates our world from ramzi�s flourishing kindom. guided always by the deity�s music, we are given passage through the arcane archipelago that ramzi calls home, a place where animals, children and wild spirits share territories and cooperate in harmony in their plight to protect these ancient islands from the ceaseless threat of the great grey invasion. with the night closely following us, we are welcomed to these lands in dusk�s light, with the warm tones of �bibwel� (featuring asaël robitaille on synth) carrying us across 11 different islets, all with unique climates, flora and fauna. after travelling for many a sunrise and sunset we take pause at mid day on �det calash� isle (with some beats provided by regular fantasy). we ending our journey with a final sunset, this time on the foggy island of �warhasu� (recorded on vancouver island with hashman deejay). amor fati (meaning �love of fate� or �love of one�s fate� in latin) comes as the inaugural release on phoebé�s own fati records and is the new nesting place for ramzi and its� extended family. the record ends the �phobiza� story, following �phobiza dia� on total stasis and �phobiza noite� on moodhut.

some time around 20 years ago, the artist known as dub surgeon made an absorbing album of beautiful dub infused with ambiance, found sounds and horizontal rhythms. the lost future was recorded at the former amsterdam film academy where dub surgeon. the recording engineer for the project was ricardo villalobos. dub surgeon and ricardo villalobos then mastered it together, putting it through several vintage mixers and recording it to 2 inch tape. then, tragedy struck: a storm surged and ignited a fire that ravaged the studio. the master copy was thought to have been lost forever. dub surgeon stopped making music and disappeared into the shadows after just two eps on future dub in 2002/3. but one day 15 years later, totally out of the blue, he received a demo of the lost future. pay attention to this, it said. attached was a demo version of the long lost album and now, finally, it has a perfect and impossibly poetic home on dubais ark to ashes, which is named in homage to the story of lee scratch perry burning down his black ark studio to rid it of demons. sounding as fresh as ever, the lost future is an authentic dub experience with a story as special as the music itself.
